Gedaref Governor: We Are Keen to Transform the State into an Agro-Industrial Zone
The Acting Governor of Gedaref, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Hassan Ahmed, revealed the significant gains achieved by factories and industrial facilities that relocated to Gedaref from Khartoum and Gezira states due to the ongoing war in the country. These entities have benefited from the favorable environment, advantages, and resources available in Gedaref, particularly the availability of raw materials that encourage the establishment of industries, especially agro-processing industries related to both crop and livestock sectors.
During his visit on Tuesday to several food production factories, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming the state into an agro-industrial hub and to partnering with investors to overcome challenges and issues hindering the advancement and development of various industries.
In addition, the governor inspected the “Al-Liya” industrial zone plan, which the state government aims to develop into a center that accommodates industries needed in the region, provides employment opportunities, serves the local community, and contributes to the economic development in multiple sectors.
