85% of Koban Investment Company’s Production in Gedaref for Export

The group of Koban Investment Company factories in Gedaref State has revealed a significant increase in the export of products such as tahini, oils, sesame, halva, and biscuits, reaching 85% of the company’s total rising production—especially after several agricultural product factories in the country shut down due to the ongoing war.

Engineer Al-Khair Al-Tayeb, General Manager of Koban Investment Company, confirmed during a visit by the Gedaref State Government, led by Governor Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, that the visit reflects the state’s and Gedaref government’s interest in industry and encouragement of increased production, considering industry one of the most vital sectors contributing foreign currency to the country.

Al-Khair renewed Koban Company’s commitment to doubling production and productivity to fill the gap left by the closure of factories in Khartoum and Al-Jazira. He also announced the addition of a new biscuit production line alongside those for tahini, halva, sesame oil, peeled sesame, and roasted sesame.

Engineer Al-Khair Al-Tayeb further disclosed that Koban’s products have reached global markets and are competing with international products and industries, as Koban offers natural products free of any additives, with a production capacity of 50 tons per day of tahini and more than 2,000 cartons of biscuits. The company also contributes to employment by providing daily work for 200 workers. He stated that Koban will be a true addition to the Sudanese industrial sector.
