“Geological Research” Begins Chromium Ore Exploitation in Blue Nile State

The regional office of the General Authority for Geological Research in the Blue Nile Region has launched the first steps of a project to exploit chromium ore, as part of its productive projects plan aimed at utilizing and diversifying resources, creating projects that support the public treasury, and revitalizing investment in the states.

In a press statement, Consultant Geologist Al-Hadi Imam Rahma, Director of the Office, stated that the mission undertaken by his office represents an important step in the project. It aims to explore and investigate chromium ore in an open-pit mine located in the “Torda” area of Bau locality. He pointed out that they are currently collecting samples from the exposed mine and linking them to the rock formations, after which laboratory operations will be conducted. Based on the results, detailed geological studies and an economic feasibility assessment will follow.
