Crop Prices Drop

Crop traders have reported a sharp decline in prices at the Al-Nuhud market exchange following attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on key commercial centers in the city, which led to reduced demand and traders fleeing the area.

The price of a ton of peanuts fell to 570,000 SDG from 800,000 SDG. Likewise, the price of a quintal of sesame dropped to 140,000 SDG from 148,000 SDG. A sack of sorghum (Arkar variety) now sells for 165,000 SDG compared to about 175,000 SDG previously.

The price of a ton of watermelon seeds (tasali) dropped to 2.1 billion SDG from 2.4 billion SDG.
