Illegal Gold Extraction Pools Discovered Inside Port Sudan Gold Market
The Coordination, Follow-up, and Violations Department of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, in coordination with the company’s office in the Red Sea State and the state police, conducted a field campaign targeting the gold market in Port Sudan.
The campaign resulted in the discovery of several violations, including the presence of gold extraction pools within the market — a clear violation of approved mining regulations and guidelines.
Abdel Moneim Qaddoura, Director of the Violations Department, stated that the campaign is part of an integrated plan to address negative practices in the mining sector. He emphasized that monitoring campaigns will continue in the coming period to ensure performance control and achieve a safe and organized mining environment.
