Decline in Crop Prices in Gedaref

Crop prices at the Gedaref commodities exchange have seen a noticeable decline.

The price of a quintal of sesame dropped to between SDG 146,000 and 155,000, down from SDG 170,000. The price of an ardab of sorghum (Akir variety) ranged between SDG 175,000 and 180,000, down from SDG 210,000. The price of millet ranged between SDG 200,000 and 225,000 per ardab.

On the other hand, the price of a sack of lentils rose to between SDG 260,000 and 290,000. The price of kabkabi (chickpeas) ranged between SDG 230,000 and 270,000. Peanuts were priced between SDG 55,000 and 60,000 per sack, while the price of a ton of sunflower seeds ranged between SDG 1,800,000 and 2,200,000.
