Cholera Response Campaign Launched in Khartoum

The Federal Ministry of Health has announced the launch of a cholera response campaign in cooperation with the Khartoum State Ministry of Health. The campaign will be carried out in 12 administrative units across the localities of Jebel Aulia, Omdurman, Karari, East Nile, and Umbadda as a first phase, lasting 10 days from Tuesday, June 10 to Thursday, June 19.

Federal campaign supervisor in Khartoum and Acting Director of Maternal and Child Health, Sister Amal Mahmoud, confirmed during a meeting with federal supervisors at the General Directorate of Health in Khartoum—held at Abouda Health Center in Al-Thawra—that all preparations have been completed for the campaign’s launch. The campaign targets 2,611,041 citizens in the specified administrative units, for individuals aged one year and above. She noted that the campaign will use three strategies: fixed sites, temporary centers, and mobile teams.

She also mentioned that federal supervisors were assigned to the different administrative units during the meeting.

Federal supervisor Abdelsalam Bilal emphasized the importance of ensuring high-quality campaign execution and full coverage of the target population, noting that 12 federal supervisors have been assigned—one for each administrative unit.
