Well-informed diplomatic sources told Al-Muhaqqiq news outlet that the details regarding the U.S. entry ban sanctions, announced by President Trump’s administration against Sudan and several other countries—and scheduled to take effect on June 6—will be officially released this week. The sources suggested that the delay may be due to ongoing reviews of the categories of individuals who will be exempt from the decision.
Al-Muhaqqiq obtained information about the exemptions that will be included in the U.S. administration’s entry ban for citizens of the affected African countries, including Sudan. The sources said the exemptions will apply to legal residents, holders of valid visas, and individuals whose entry is deemed to serve the interests of the United States.
According to Al-Muhaqqiq sources, the exemptions from the ban include diplomats and official personnel assigned to duties at embassies in Washington or at the United Nations in New York. The decision also exempts athletes participating in the World Cup or the Olympics, dual nationals, and immediate family members of permanent residents, provided that their relationship is verified through DNA testing.
The sources added that the decision does not mention any suspension of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) granted to Sudanese nationals residing in the U.S. due to the ongoing war. Those under this protection are not expected to be affected by the new decision.
