Gezira State Governor: Thousands of Citizens Return to Their Homes

The Governor of Gezira State, Al-Taher Ibrahim Al-Khair, revealed that thousands of citizens have returned to their homes following the restoration of security and stability, along with the return of essential services, especially electricity, water, and healthcare, to large parts of the state.

Speaking to Ultra Sudan, the governor said that residents of all villages and towns in the state have returned to their homes. He noted that the state receives 25 buses daily carrying citizens voluntarily returning to their towns and villages.

The governor expressed expectations that residents of Wad Madani city will return after the Eid holiday, citing the return of security, market activity, and hospital operations. He confirmed that both health and security conditions in Gezira have remained stable throughout the three days of Eid al-Adha, thanks to the efforts of security and police forces, health workers, and other service providers.

Ibrahim pointed out that the health situation in Gezira State is completely stable, with no recorded cases of cholera during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
