Hudson: “Hamdok Lives Among Billionaires and Justifies the UAE’s Militia”

Former U.S. diplomat and Africa affairs expert Cameron Hudson launched a scathing attack on former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, accusing him of being completely disconnected from the country’s reality and of implicitly supporting the Rapid Support Forces militia.

In a tweet, Hudson said: “Hamdok, who doesn’t live in Sudan and spends his time among billionaires, believes that retaking Khartoum doesn’t matter,” referring to remarks Hamdok made on the sidelines of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation conference in Morocco, where he described the army’s efforts to retake the capital as “irrelevant” and called talk of its reconstruction “ridiculous.”

Hudson concluded his criticism sarcastically, saying: “His talk of peace and democracy is empty as long as he doesn’t live the reality or pay the price of war.”
