The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has intensified its campaign of arrests in the city of El Daein, the capital of East Darfur State, under the pretext of collaboration with the Armed Forces.
The South Darfur State Workers’ Trade Union Federation has announced its solidarity with the workers who were arrested by the RSF militia in El Daein.
In a statement, the South Darfur Workers’ Union condemned the wave of arrests targeting workers in El Daein, stating that the RSF continues to silence voices and humiliate citizens to force their allegiance.
The statement indicated that the arrests were based on accusations of loyalty to the Armed Forces and political parties.
It called for the immediate and unconditional release of the detained workers in El Daein, affirming that the stance of the South Darfur State Workers’ Union stems from values of solidarity and cooperation among social and trade union organizations.
