The Khartoum State Security Committee held a meeting on Thursday, chaired by the Wali (Governor) of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman Hamza, to discuss a number of issues related to the state’s security plan, service provision, and ongoing efforts by the state government to facilitate the return of citizens — with a focus on water and electricity services.
The meeting emphasized the importance of firmly addressing all security threats and sleeper cells, continuing the fight against negative phenomena and crime dens, the deportation of foreign nationals, and the removal of informal housing.
The committee also instructed the renewal of decisions banning rickshaws (tuk-tuks) from crossing Nile bridges and prohibiting the use of motorcycles. Additionally, the meeting decided to designate the Al-Fitihab Bridge for truck traffic.
The meeting reviewed the criminal and security report, which indicated a decline in crime rates thanks to the efforts of the joint patrols and the activities of the security task force.
