Khartoum Halts Issuance of Agricultural Land Certificates

Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Othman Hamza has directed the Ministry of Agriculture in Khartoum State to suspend the issuance of “search certificates” for agricultural lands in order to review general performance. He also called on the ministry to take part in reforesting main streets that have seen trees burned and vandalized, and to expand green spaces.

During his tour on Sunday of ministries and government institutions resuming work from their official headquarters in Khartoum — including the General Secretariat of the state government, attended by Secretary-General El-Hadi Abdel Sayyed Ibrahim — the governor instructed that the Mine Action Center be involved in clearing foreign and explosive objects from the premises.

The governor also inspected the situation at the Khartoum Food Security Company, one of the state-affiliated companies that provides affordable consumer goods. He assessed the damage and instructed the management to prioritize rehabilitation and resume operations as soon as possible to serve citizens.

The tour also included the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Resources, and Irrigation in Khartoum State, where the governor checked staff attendance and the resumption of operations across various departments by reviewing attendance records and ensuring proper working conditions. He also inspected the slaughterhouses and their operations in preparation for resuming services.
