
On Tuesday, a force from the Rapid Support Forces militia stormed the prison in the city of Bara, North Kordofan State, and freed a number of militia members who had previously been arrested by the “Negative Phenomena Committee” affiliated with the army.
According to informed sources who spoke to Darfur24, the RSF commander in Bara, Al-Naeem Abdullah, had ordered the arrest of several individuals as part of the so-called “Negative Phenomena Campaign.”
In a related development, the sources reported that Sudanese army warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes targeting areas in central and western Bara, believed to be RSF deployment zones.
The sources added that “intense anti-aircraft fire by the RSF was heard for an extended period in the eastern and southern parts of the city.”
