Arrangements Underway for the Return of the Central Bank to Khartoum State

As part of efforts to resume the operations of the Central Bank of Sudan in Khartoum State, Dr. Qureshi Suleiman Adam, Director of the Central Bank’s Khartoum branch, held a joint meeting on Sunday with relevant service providers in the state. The meeting included representatives from the State Security Committee, Electricity, Water and Sanitation, and Lands Authorities, with the goal of ensuring essential services are available in the alternative locations from which the bank will operate in Khartoum.

Dr. Qureshi Suleiman Adam stated that the meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to provide these services at the designated sites, which will be a significant step toward the bank’s operational resumption and stability.

This move follows the reopening of seventeen branches of commercial banks, and he emphasized that the Central Bank will encourage other banks that have not yet resumed operations to expedite the reopening of their branches.
