Rising Crop Prices

Sudan Events monitoring revealed an increase in crop prices at the Gedaref Exchange.

The price of a quintal of processed sesame reached 158,000–163,000 SDG, while the price of a quintal of sesame under zakat ranged from 145,000 to 152,000 SDG. The price of an ardab of sorghum (feterita) was 155,000–163,000 SDG, while an ardab of mixed sorghum (akir) ranged from 200,000 to 210,000 SDG. An ardab of red millet was priced at 200,000–210,000 SDG, and white millet at 205,000–212,000 SDG. The price of a ton of groundnuts (known locally as tasali) ranged from 2 million to 2.5 million SDG.
