Emphasis on Transparency in the Gold Export Window

Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Daem Taha underscored the importance of enhancing transparency and developing mechanisms within the unified gold export window to ensure continued gold production and increased export revenue.
During his visit to the window—accompanied by the Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Taher Omar, Director of the Standards and Metrology Authority Rahba Saeed, and several members of relevant regulatory bodies—geologist and window supervisor Waleed Bahr presented a report on the window’s functions and its role in organizing and coordinating gold exports, highlighting the significant contributions made in recent times.
The minister praised the noticeable improvement in the window’s performance and commended the coordination efforts among the involved entities.
Mohamed Taher Omar, Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, stated that the unified window has played a vital role in bridging the gap caused by the gold refinery’s shutdown and has helped significantly increase revenues, especially from export proceeds.
For her part, Rahba Saeed, Director of the Standards and Metrology Authority, emphasized the importance of expanding the regulation of other mineral exports in addition to gold, in order to enhance the mining sector’s contribution to the national economy.
