Energy Minister Urges Diplomats to Attract Investments to Sudan

Minister of Energy, Eng. Advisor Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim, affirmed that the ministry maintains strong foreign relations and mutual interests in the oil sector with several companies, revealing efforts to expand the pool of investors through Sudanese embassies abroad.
During a meeting in his office on Thursday with Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Omar Siddiq, and outgoing Sudanese ambassadors to Venezuela, South Africa, Ghana, and Zimbabwe—attended by Undersecretary Dr. Mohy El-Din Naim Mohamed Said—he called on diplomats to play a key role in attracting foreign capital to Sudan.
He noted that African countries show significant interest, and there are opportunities for cooperation with both African nations and Venezuela in projects such as coal mining and renewable energy.
The meeting discussed the importance of cooperation in the energy sector, including oil and electricity, within the framework of joint coordination between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Energy, leveraging Sudan’s external relations, especially with African neighbors, and highlighting Venezuela as the country with the world’s largest proven oil reserves.
