Inflation Rate Declines

Sudan’s inflation rate for July 2025 recorded a decline compared to June of the same year.
According to the monthly bulletin issued by the Central Bureau of Statistics, the inflation rate stood at 78.39% in July, compared to 113.35% in June.
The bulletin indicated that the annual change rate for the food and beverages group reached 85.23% in July, down from 90.54% in June. The housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels group recorded 70.55% compared to 78.46% in June. The household equipment and routine maintenance group registered 74.55% compared to 87.48% in June, while the health group posted 40.76% compared to 41.41%.
The communications group saw a sharp decline to 251.49% from 423.48% in June, whereas the restaurants and hotels group registered an increase to 47.69% from 33.21%. The transport group dropped to 78.95% from 182.75%.
Urban inflation stood at 80.20% in July compared to 105.70% in June, while rural inflation reached 77.53% compared to 119.14%.
At the state level, River Nile State recorded 153.66% in July, down from 397%. The Northern State recorded 18.19% compared to 37.23%, and the Red Sea State posted 45.12% compared to 51.85%. North Darfur registered the highest rate at 311.70%, up from 224.78%. Gezira State recorded 182.31% compared to 215.22%, and Khartoum State recorded 88.79% compared to 111.06% in June.
