Sudan Presents Updated Mining Investment Guide to Embassy in Tokyo

A delegation from Sudan’s Ministry of Minerals, representing the Geological Research Authority, presented the Sudanese Embassy in Tokyo with an updated investment guide for the mining sector, along with geological maps, in a move aimed at attracting Japanese investment.
Geologist and consultant Ahmed Haroun El-Tom, Director General of the Geological Research Authority, stated that the guide highlights incentives provided under Sudan’s Mineral Resources Law for foreign investors. He emphasized Sudan’s commitment to creating a more attractive environment for international investments in gold and other minerals.
The handover took place during a dinner hosted by Sudan’s ambassador to Japan in honor of the visiting delegation, which included representatives from the Ministries of Minerals, Agriculture, and Trade, as well as the Director General of the Golden Railway Mining Company.
The delegation honored the Sudanese ambassador for his efforts in strengthening economic ties between Sudan and Japan and also recognized Sudan’s Commissioner for Expo 2025 for his role in ensuring successful participation.
This initiative comes as part of the Sudanese government’s broader strategy to enhance partnerships with Japan and expand foreign investment in the mining sector—one of the country’s most vital sources of revenue.
