Sudanese army warplanes carried out airstrikes on Tuesday against Rapid Support Forces (RSF) positions in several areas across North and West Kordofan states.
According to military field sources who spoke to Ultra Sudan, the strikes focused on Bara, western El-Obeid, Al-Khuwei, Abu Zabad, Al-Nahud, and Al-Fula, where RSF units have been stationed for months.
The air raids reportedly destroyed a number of combat vehicles along with their weapons and killed at least 20 RSF fighters. Some of the wounded were transported to hospitals in Al-Nahud, with several in critical condition, the sources said.
The strikes aimed to disperse RSF concentrations in the region in preparation for regaining control of those areas. The sources further suggested that heavy clashes are expected in the coming days across several fronts in Kordofan as part of the army’s broader plan to secure the region and break the siege on El-Fashir.
