Egypt’s Foreign Ministry and Migration spokesperson, Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, confirmed that Cairo is continuing its political and humanitarian efforts to achieve a comprehensive resolution to Sudan’s crisis, now entering its third year amid escalating human suffering and deteriorating security conditions.
Khalaf emphasized that Egypt’s position is based on core principles, including an immediate ceasefire, respect for Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, preservation of state institutions, ensuring humanitarian aid reaches those affected, and facilitating a Sudanese-led transitional political process without external interference.
He stressed Egypt’s firm rejection of any moves that undermine Sudan’s internal stability or create parallel entities conflicting with Sudanese aspirations for restored security. Khalaf added that Egypt continues consultations with all relevant Sudanese stakeholders to advance a solution rooted in Sudanese ownership, aligned with citizens’ aspirations for a stable and secure future.
