Sudan–Qatar Talks to Boost Economic Cooperation

Sudan’s Minister of Finance, Jibril Ibrahim, arrived in the Qatari capital, Doha, where he held talks with his Qatari counterpart, Ali bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, to discuss bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed key areas of joint cooperation, with a particular focus on investment opportunities in Sudan—especially in agriculture, infrastructure, and energy. They also discussed mechanisms to activate economic and trade partnerships in a way that serves mutual interests.
The talks further addressed the current economic developments in Sudan, with Ibrahim outlining measures being taken by the Finance Ministry to improve the investment climate and attract foreign capital. Discussions also touched on potential technical and financial support that Qatar could provide for development projects.
For his part, the Qatari Finance Minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Sudan and supporting development initiatives that contribute to economic stability and the advancement of trade relations between the two nations.
