The Economic Emergency Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris, held an important meeting on Wednesday to review priority economic issues.
The committee discussed its mandate and the measures assigned to address current economic challenges, including the implementation of decisions regarding gold purchase and market regulation to increase state revenues and reduce speculative activity.
Deliberations also focused on anti-smuggling measures, regulating imports in line with actual national needs, enhancing exports, and opening new markets for Sudanese products.
The committee confirmed that decisions on agreed matters will be issued gradually, with specialized technical committees formed to ensure immediate implementation on the ground.
Prime Minister Dr. Kamel Idris closely monitors the committee’s work, emphasizing that economic reform is a top priority for the government at this critical stage in the country’s history.
