
On Saturday, Egypt and Eritrea exchanged views on developments in Sudan.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aaty met his Eritrean counterpart Osman Saleh on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings.
The meeting included discussions on regional issues of common concern, foremost among them the situation in Sudan.
Abdel Aaty emphasized the importance of preserving Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions.
He called for lifting the siege on El Fasher and strengthening efforts to address the humanitarian crisis.
The two ministers also discussed security challenges in the Red Sea, affirming that its security and governance remain the sole and exclusive responsibility of its littoral states, as they are directly concerned with safeguarding its stability and sustainability.
