The Early Warning Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, on Saturday, predicted floods along riverbanks in White Nile, Khartoum, and River Nile states.
The unit issued a red-alert warning, citing extreme risk levels in White Nile, Khartoum, and River Nile due to expected flooding along the Nile strip as a result of increased inflows from the Blue Nile and White Nile.
The warning is expected to remain in effect from Saturday until Monday evening.
The unit noted that floodwaters may submerge fields and valleys, urging the public to avoid low-lying areas and relocate crops, fodder, and livestock to elevated, flood-resistant locations.
