Sudan Pitches $100 Billion Investment Portfolio to Saudi Arabia

Prime Minister Kamil Idris announced Wednesday that Sudan has offered 100 economic projects worth $100 billion in a proposed strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia.

He described his recent trip to Riyadh as “one of the most significant visits,” saying relations between the two countries would be based on a productive, mutually beneficial economic partnership.

Idris said the delegation presented the investment package, with results expected to emerge in the coming days. He stressed the Red Sea’s resources could make Sudan and Saudi Arabia among the richest nations in the world, highlighting its strategic security and trade importance.

He told Saudi officials that Sudan seeks “a true strategic partnership—not handouts.”

On another front, Idris underlined Sudan’s attention to Nile water issues and Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam. He revealed coordination with both Egypt and Ethiopia to safeguard shared interests and said Khartoum would launch an in-depth review of the file in cooperation with the two countries.
