Customs Authority Completes Digital Integration of ASYCUDA with Civil Registry

Sudan’s Customs Authority announced the completion of digital integration between the global ASYCUDA customs management system and the civil registry database via the “Baladna” platform, describing it as a major technical achievement that advances digital transformation and simplifies customs procedures.

Customs Director-General Lt. Gen. Salah Ahmed Ibrahim praised the efforts of the General Directorate of Information and Communication Technology for driving modernization and strengthening the authority’s digital infrastructure.

Deputy Director-General for Compliance and Facilitation, Maj. Gen. Nabigh Al-Madani, emphasized that the integration is part of a strategic plan to modernize customs systems in line with international standards, expediting transactions and improving efficiency.

Meanwhile, Director of ICT, Brig. Yasser Awad, explained that linking the two systems will prevent forgery of national ID numbers within ASYCUDA, improve data accuracy, and accelerate processing. He noted that customs risk officers across checkpoints will use the system, enhancing auditing capacity and reducing manipulation.

This integration marks a significant step toward building a more transparent, disciplined customs system, supporting the state’s efforts in digital transformation and combating fraud and administrative corruption.
