The Council of Ministers has described the Rapid Support Forces’ (RSF) drone attack on the city of El-Obeid as a cowardly act that reflects the militia’s moral and military bankruptcy and a desperate attempt to cover up its repeated defeats on the battlefield.
In a statement, the Council said the drone strikes targeted health facilities, including the Teaching Hospital and the Al-Dhaman Hospital, as well as several residential neighborhoods, the city’s airport, and public service facilities. No casualties were reported.
The statement added that the attack underscores the militia’s persistent determination to endanger civilian lives and destroy essential infrastructure and services relied upon by citizens.
The government strongly condemned the “terrorist attack” and reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its national duty of protecting civilians, confronting aggression, restoring security and stability, and upholding the rule of law.
