13 Civilians Killed in RSF Shelling of El Fasher

Doctors in Sudan reported on Monday that at least 13 civilians were killed and dozens injured, including women and children, following artillery shelling by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on several neighborhoods in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

The RSF launched a heavy assault on parts of the city early Monday, accompanied by intense shelling that struck civilian gathering areas, resulting in significant casualties.

In a statement, the Sudan Doctors’ Network said: “At least 13 people were killed and 19 others injured, including seven children and a pregnant woman, as a result of deliberate RSF shelling of residential areas in El Fasher.”

The Network strongly condemned the RSF’s continued attacks on unarmed civilians, which have caused mounting casualties amid a severe humanitarian and health crisis, as most medical facilities have ceased operating.

It added that many bodies remain uncollected in targeted areas due to ongoing bombardment and street clashes.
The statement described the situation in El Fasher as a “complete war crime and systematic assault on civilian life”, occurring daily amid shameful international silence.

The Doctors’ Network called on the international community, the UN, and the Security Council to act urgently to stop the attacks, ensure protection for civilians and medical personnel, and open safe humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of the wounded and the delivery of medical and relief supplies.
