Government Vows to Improve Investment Climate and Streamline Procedures

Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Saif al-Nasr al-Tijani Haroun has reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the investment environment and simplifying procedures for both domestic and foreign investors.

Speaking after meeting with a delegation of Sudanese business leaders on Wednesday — attended by Captain Mazen al-Awad, Director General of Sudan Airways — the minister emphasized that roads, bridges, railways, and air and river transport projects are top government priorities.

Discussions also covered investment opportunities in transport, infrastructure, and reconstruction.

Al-Awad described the aviation sector as a “real treasure,” noting Sudan’s readiness to attract investment in air cargo, ground handling, and logistics, and underscoring the importance of strategic partnerships under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.

Meanwhile, Mohamed al-Nour Sharif, Secretary-General of the National Union of Sudanese Entrepreneurs Abroad, reaffirmed the union’s commitment to supporting state efforts in infrastructure and sustainable development. He stressed that cooperation between government, private sector, and civil society is essential to building a modern Sudan.
