A spokesperson for the displaced persons in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, said that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia carried out a physical liquidation operation on Monday against several displaced people inside a shelter center north of the city.
Mohamed Khamis Douda, spokesperson for Zamzam Camp, told Sudan Tribune that “RSF elements infiltrated the Abu Talib School shelter in the Abu Shouk neighborhood and opened fire on displaced persons inside their homes, killing three of them — including an elderly woman in her eighties and a man with a physical disability.”
Douda added that the attack came a week after heavy shelling targeted the same center with more than ten mortar rounds, followed by a strategic drone strike at night that killed over 15 people and wounded dozens more.
He noted that the attacking forces forced all the families residing in the center — about 100 families, including 37 orphaned and homeless children — to evacuate the site by force and flee to unknown destinations without food or shelter amid extremely harsh humanitarian conditions.
