Militia Drone Shot Down in El Fasher

Air defenses in El Fasher shot down a combat drone carrying 120mm rounds on Saturday, which targeted positions of the Sixth Infantry Division in the besieged city. Dozens of militia members were also killed after attempting to infiltrate with combat vehicles and infantry on the northeastern axis late Friday night.

A statement from the Sixth Infantry Division confirmed that the army inflicted heavy casualties on the militia, killing dozens including leaders, while the remainder fled westward.

Eyewitness survivors cited in the division’s statement reported seeing over 200 bodies in areas west of El Fasher. The militia allegedly tortured and looted civilians, gathering them in one location to terrorize residents seeking food supplies.

The Sixth Infantry Division also noted that some families have left El Fasher and have been out of contact with relatives for ten days, with their whereabouts unknown. The militia’s recent actions have shifted from political or military objectives to outright killing of civilians, despite calls to leave through safe corridors.

The division reassured residents that the situation is under army control in Al-Karama Square and emphasized the steadfastness of its forces across all fronts. It called on Sudanese citizens and El Fasher residents to remain resilient and continue supporting the armed forces and allied units in breaking the siege.
