Militia Launches Large-Scale Recruitment Campaign in Kabkabiya

Local sources and eyewitnesses in Kabkabiya, located about 155 kilometers west of El Fasher in North Darfur, reported that the Rapid Support Forces militia carried out a large-scale recruitment campaign in the city over recent months.

Following the campaign, the forces established a training camp for new recruits inside the Industrial School building on the west side of the city.

One eyewitness told Darfur24 that the camp was set up around four months ago, coinciding with intensified fighting in El Fasher and the suspension of airstrikes in the area. Dozens of young men joined the camp, which was dedicated to training new fighters.

Another local source stated that hundreds of youth were mobilized from Saraf Omra, Al-Sarif Bani Hussein, Kabkabiya, as well as defectors from the Revolutionary Awakening Council led by Musa Hilal. The source added that the Industrial School, formerly a center for vocational training, was completely converted into a military training facility under the supervision of militia leader Abdullah Maala. Most recruits are reportedly aged between 16 and 18.
