The Federal Emergency Operations Center, based at the Ministry of Health headquarters in Khartoum, reviewed the country’s health situation and interventions implemented by various departments during epidemiological week 40 (October 4–10).
The surveillance report indicated a decrease in cholera and dengue fever infections, alongside an increase in malaria cases. A total of 3,473 dengue fever cases were recorded across eight states — with the highest numbers reported in Khartoum, Al-Jazira, Kassala, and White Nile — resulting in 29 deaths.
Meanwhile, 611 cholera cases were registered in 15 states, most notably in North Kordofan, South Kordofan, South Darfur, and Central and East Darfur. In addition, 50,000 confirmed malaria cases were reported nationwide.
