Directives Issued to Survey Commercial and Service Activities in Khartoum

The Khartoum Locality Revenue Council held an extensive meeting on Sunday, chaired by the locality’s Executive Director, Abdel Moneim Al-Bashir. The meeting discussed several regulatory and service-related issues as part of preparations for the 2026 fiscal budget.

The council directed that a comprehensive survey be conducted of all commercial and service activities within the locality, with updated data to be completed within a week to ensure accurate financial estimates. It also decided to activate all vehicle licensing centers and initiate the registration process for “rickshaws” by allocating a dedicated section in coordination with the General Traffic Police Administration and the Public Transport and Petroleum Administration.

In a move aimed at regulating transportation, the council emphasized the need to remove unauthorized public transport stations and to return public vehicles to their former official stations that were in use before April 15, 2025, following directives from the Local Security Committee. The Public Transport and Petroleum Administration was also instructed to reactivate suspended transport routes in certain areas.

Regarding urban planning, the council ordered the identification and documentation of informal housing and market sites in preparation for their removal, in line with state directives, while stressing the importance of preventive measures to avoid their reemergence in previously cleared zones.

The meeting also reviewed the status of government properties and decided to conduct field surveys to register unlisted properties with the Land Authority.

On the service front, the council reviewed progress in health centers in Samir and Al-Jarif West and discussed finalizing administrative structures across different units. It stressed the importance of regular monitoring by administrative unit directors and the submission of periodic reports on security, health, and education challenges to ensure effective responses.
