Sudan’s Energy Minister to Visit Turkey

Sudan’s Minister of Energy, Engineer Consultant Al-Mutasim Ibrahim, met with Turkish Ambassador to Sudan Fatih Yildiz to discuss arrangements for the minister’s upcoming visit to Turkey, scheduled for Monday.

During the visit, the minister is expected to meet with several Turkish companies, including PGN, which operates in the fields of energy, storage, and petroleum products.

Minister Ibrahim stated that, as part of reconstruction and the return of activity to Khartoum State, his ministry is working to ensure stable electricity supply. He welcomed cooperation with Turkey in the oil and electricity sectors and invited Turkish investors to explore opportunities, noting that Port Sudan Refinery has been opened for commercial investment.

Ambassador Yildiz, for his part, proposed the construction of a gas storage facility in Suakin, highlighting the deep-rooted Sudanese-Turkish relations and affirming Ankara’s commitment to facilitating technical exchanges and visits between the two countries, particularly in the fields of energy and petroleum derivatives.
