Local sources reported that RSF fighters, accompanied by foreign combatants, carried out a deadly assault on Bara City Hospital, killing the entire medical staff along with several patients and attendants, including women, children, the elderly, and newborns.
Eyewitnesses from inside the city said the attackers executed summary killings within hospital wards — one of the deadliest incidents recorded in a healthcare facility since the war began.
The assault reportedly stemmed from internal tensions within the militia following the arrest of a field commander known as “Abololo”, which triggered armed protests across RSF-controlled areas in the region.
Local medical organizations condemned the massacre as “a genocide inside a medical facility” and “a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the conventions protecting healthcare institutions and workers in conflict zones.”
No official comment has yet been obtained from Sudanese authorities or RSF leadership, while residents continue recovering bodies amid widespread panic in the city.
