Exporters’ Chamber: “The Economy Won’t Take Off Without Harmony Between Public and Private Sectors”

Dr. Khalid Al-Maqbool, Head of the Meat Exporters Division at the National Exporters’ Chamber, affirmed that the public and private sectors are partners in development, describing them as “the two wings of the economy.”
In press statements, he said: “The economy will not take off unless there is coordination and harmony between its two wings.” He added: “The country is on the verge of great potential — we are not just exporters of goods, but exporters of solutions.”
Dr. Al-Maqbool explained that the Sudanese Exports Forum aims to develop a comprehensive economic vision that maximizes export-oriented production. He noted that the Chamber has agreed to organize this forum through the National Chamber of Exporters to present a clear vision addressing the current economic challenges.
According to Al-Maqbool, the forum will present specialized papers — including one by Wajdi Mirghani, President of the National Exporters’ Chamber — that outline how the export sector can contribute to a sustainable, competitive, and value-driven economy.
He added that the Chamber’s plan is holistic, covering the entire value chain from production to trade, manufacturing, storage, and export. The five-year plan (2026–2030) aims to achieve a real breakthrough consistent with the sector’s untapped potential.
Al-Maqbool praised the appointment of a minister from the private sector and expressed optimism that the outcomes of the forum would soon bear fruit through joint collaboration between all partners in production and export.
