Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism Khalid El-Ei’aser asserted that the current mobilization and popular resistance are not unprecedented, but rather a legitimate and historic response to existential threats facing nations.
Speaking at a Sudan News Agency (SUNA) forum hosting the National Committee for Mobilization and Popular Resistance, chaired by Lt. Gen. Bashir Maki El-Bahi, the minister said the war in Sudan is not an internal conflict as some portray it, but an aggression and invasion targeting the Sudanese people.
He questioned the involvement of countries like Colombia and several African and neighboring states in Sudan’s political and economic affairs, saying such interference confirms the external nature of the assault on Sudan.
El-Ei’aser urged all Sudanese willing to defend their nation to join the ranks of the Popular Resistance and the Armed Forces, affirming that Sudan would remain steadfast despite all challenges.
He stressed that the country is undergoing a critical stage requiring national unity and close coordination between civilian and military forces to confront the aggression.
The minister extended condolences to the families of victims in El-Fashir and Bara, and praised friendly nations and peoples that supported Sudan’s defense, as well as domestic and international media for their coverage of the Sudanese cause.
