WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on Monday for an end to the violence in Sudan and mourned the death of Dr. Adam Ibrahim Ismail in Al-Fashir.
In a post on X, Tedros stated, “WHO mourns Dr. Adam Ibrahim Ismail and calls for an end to violence against health workers. The bloodshed in Sudan must stop.”
Last Wednesday, RSF forces executed Dr. Ismail in Al-Fashir, according to the Sudan Doctors Network. The Al-Fashir Resistance Committees also commemorated Dr. Ismail for dedicating his life to serving his city during the siege, providing care to those in need, until he was killed by RSF gunfire.
