Sudan’s Transport Minister: The Country Is Poised for Comprehensive Development

The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Saif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani Haroun, met with a delegation from the Arab Marketing Organization, an affiliate of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, headed by Engineer Hisham Awad.
The meeting discussed potential areas of cooperation between the Ministry and the Organization, as well as ways to enhance the Organization’s role in promoting reconstruction projects and initiatives in Sudan, particularly in the infrastructure and transport sectors.
Discussions also covered the key fields and services the Organization could offer to the Ministry in support of capacity building and training programs.
Engineer Hisham Awad, Chairman of the Arab Marketing Organization, reaffirmed the Organization’s readiness to engage positively with the Ministry’s plans and priorities, and to support efforts to promote reconstruction projects across the Arab region.
Minister Saif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani Haroun reiterated Sudan’s openness to all Arab joint action institutions to contribute to the country’s reconstruction efforts, emphasizing that Sudan is on the threshold of a major development renaissance driven by the infrastructure and transport sectors.
The meeting endorsed an initiative by the Arab Marketing Organization to organize joint events with the Ministry aimed at mobilizing support for transport projects and raising awareness within the Arab business community about the country’s reconstruction efforts.
The meeting was attended by several members of the Arab Marketing Organization, the Director of River Navigation at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the Chairman of the Nile Valley Navigation Authority, and the Sudanese Embassy’s representative in Cairo.
