Ancelotti: We Suffered Against Tunisia… Trabelsi: We Missed the Win

Brazil is “on the right path to reaching its best level by the 2026 World Cup,” according to its Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, after the team drew 1–1 with Tunisia in a friendly on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tunisia’s coach Sami Trabelsi said that “small details cost us the victory.”
Three days after defeating Senegal 2–0 in a friendly in London, Brazil failed to repeat the win at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium near Lille, despite another impressive performance from rising star Estevão.
The 18-year-old Chelsea winger equalized for the five-time world champions from the penalty spot in the 44th minute, responding to Hazem Mestouri’s opener in the 23rd minute.
Ancelotti, 66, said:
“We played a very good match against Senegal, but against Tunisia it was much harder.”
The former Real Madrid, Milan, and Bayern Munich coach added:
“Tunisian players have different characteristics. They defend with a very deep block. It’s very difficult to find spaces against this kind of defense.”
Ancelotti praised the Carthage Eagles, saying they “played with high intensity” and showed an “excellent defensive level.”
On the other side, Tunisia’s coach Sami Trabelsi said he hopes his team “maintains this mentality against all opponents, not just Brazil.”
The 57-year-old added:
“Next time, I hope we beat Brazil. Small details prevented that from happening—it’s true.”
