Northern State Bans Transport of Goods to Rebel-Controlled Areas

Lieutenant General Abdelrahman Abdelhamid Ibrahim, Governor of Northern State, issued Emergency Order No. (6) of 2025 on Tuesday, prohibiting the transport of goods, merchandise, and items from Northern State to areas controlled by rebel militias in the states of Kordofan, Darfur, and Western Northern State.
The order stipulates that any violation will be met with severe penalties, including imprisonment for no less than five years and a fine of no less than ten million Sudanese pounds. In cases of non-payment, an additional six months of imprisonment will be imposed.
The decree also mandates the confiscation of goods, merchandise, means of transport, and any materials related to the violation.
This measure is part of efforts to strengthen national security and prevent resources from reaching rebel militias, ensuring the protection of citizens and the stability of markets within Northern State.
