Major Turkish Company Prepares to Resume Mining Activities in Red Sea State

Sudan’s Ambassador to Turkey, Nader Youssef Al-Tayeb, held an important meeting with Nail Yildirim, General Manager of MTA International Mining A.Ş, one of the leading Turkish companies in exploration and mining.
The meeting focused on the future of Sudanese–Turkish cooperation in the minerals sector. The two sides reviewed the company’s experience in Sudan through its branch, MTA Company Limited – Sudan, and its previous exploration activities across several mineral blocks, which had been temporarily halted due to war conditions.
The company’s General Manager confirmed MTA’s strong desire to resume its activities in the upcoming phase, particularly in Red Sea State. He emphasized the company’s plan for a gradual and organized return, either through previously explored blocks or via new opportunities with economic and technical feasibility.
For his part, Ambassador Nader Youssef Al-Tayeb praised the company’s willingness to return, affirming Sudan’s commitment to strengthening Turkish investments, particularly in the mining sector, which represents one of the key pillars of economic cooperation between the two countries.
