Roads and Bridges Authority Announces Completion of First Phase of Al-Obeid–Tandalti Road Maintenance

The Director of the Kordofan Sector at the National Highways and Bridges Authority, Engineer Asim Ali Al-Hassan, confirmed the ongoing maintenance works on the 214-kilometer Al-Obeid–Tandalti road.

He announced the completion of the first phase, which focused on closing high-risk areas with dense potholes, paving the way for the second phase. He noted that work is progressing well and highlighted extensive preparations for the upcoming stage under the direct supervision of the Director-General of the National Highways and Bridges Authority and the General Directorate of Rehabilitation and Maintenance.

He revealed that new quantities of asphalt have arrived at the site, which will significantly accelerate progress and advance work along the road. The next step will involve clearing trees in the coming days to improve visibility and road safety for users, followed by repairing road shoulders and improving the surface to ensure safer travel for residents—especially amid the ongoing achievements and victories of the armed forces.
