Turkish Report Details RSF Crimes Against Civilians in Sudan

The Turkish newspaper Tarihe Tanıklık published a detailed report Friday on the crimes committed by the RSF against civilians since the outbreak of the Sudanese war on April 15, 2023, describing the situation as “one of the largest humanitarian catastrophes in modern Africa.”

Titled “RSF Crimes Against Civilians in Sudan”, the report cited UN and human rights organization data, noting that cities and neighborhoods entered by the RSF became “stages for killings, rapes, abductions, and looting,” forcing millions to flee while leaving behind bodies and destroyed towns.

The violations, the report stated, were systematic and included:

Heavy weapon assaults on cities,

Field executions,

Burning of markets, homes, and food stores,

Mass rapes of women and girls,

Torture and dragging of corpses through streets,

Looting of hospitals, banks, and private property.

The UN estimates that more than 10 million Sudanese have been displaced, with violence in West Darfur possibly reaching the level of ethnic cleansing against groups such as the Masalit tribe.

The report also covered the assassination of West Darfur Governor Khamis Abdullah Abkar in June 2023, hours after criticizing RSF crimes on air. Videos later surfaced showing his body being tortured and dragged, symbolizing the RSF’s terror tactics against those exposing their crimes.

Statements and documents attributed to Abdel Rahim Dagalo, RSF deputy leader and brother of Hemeti, were cited, highlighting RSF artillery bombardments on residential areas in October 2025, resulting in hundreds of civilian casualties.

UN human rights offices, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch confirmed:

Extrajudicial executions,

Mass rape,

Organized looting,

Direct targeting of civilians.

The US, UK, and EU have imposed sanctions on RSF leaders, including Abdel Rahim Dagalo, for human rights violations. The report concluded that international justice is the only way to halt the killing machine and transform Sudan into a country of life, not death.
