During her visit on Tuesday to Wad Madani in Gezira State—beginning with a meeting with the Commander of the First Infantry Division—she revealed special arrangements for financing the agricultural season in coordination with the federal Ministry of Agriculture, as well as efforts to attract microfinance funds and expand their presence in the states. She also reviewed the Central Bank’s reform plan and support for banks through regional and international financing institutions.
Meanwhile, Magdy Al-Bakhit, Director of the Central Bank’s Wad Madani branch, stated that the bank has adopted a gradual currency replacement plan in Gezira State.
The governor inspected the damage to the Central Bank branch caused by attacks from the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF). She directed authorities to begin an immediate engineering assessment and start renovation work in coordination with relevant government bodies, with a focus on restoring the data center and shifting to cloud-based storage systems to ensure operational continuity and the security of technical infrastructure.
