A doctor from the Preparatory Committee of the Doctors’ Syndicate revealed on Tuesday that 25,000 children have been killed since the outbreak of the war, while 45 boys and girls were subjected to rape as they fled El-Fasher in North Darfur.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) allegedly committed grave violations—including mass killings and sexual violence—after taking control of El-Fasher on October 26, pursuing civilians attempting to flee.
Speaking to Sudan Tribune, internist and epidemiologist Adeeba Ibrahim Al-Sayed said: “The number of children killed—from newborns to age 16—since the start of the war has reached 25,000.”
She reported that approximately 566 children sustained life-threatening injuries.
Adeeba disclosed that 45 minors were sexually assaulted by RSF fighters during their escape from El-Fasher to Tawila in North Darfur, adding that all survivors received treatment from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Tawila.
She further stated that 800 unaccompanied children had arrived in Tawila from El-Fasher, many suffering from malnutrition and psychological trauma after witnessing atrocities along the way.
Adeeba urged both warring parties to open safe corridors for humanitarian aid, noting that children in displacement camps are suffering from hunger and disease. She also called on the international community to help stop the war and restore peace to save civilians from starvation and death.
