Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) announced that 10,000 displaced people have recently arrived in Tawila locality as part of the latest wave fleeing El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, which fell to the RSF on 26 October 2025.
MSF said on Thursday that thousands of civilians fleeing El Fasher found overcrowded camps in Tawila and faced dire conditions — with insufficient water, food, shelter, or sanitation.
The organization relayed the account of a displaced woman who said she and her family kept moving from one location to another in El Fasher searching for shelter, while her husband left to find food and was killed by shellfire.
According to MSF, when this woman and her children fled the city, they found his body lying on the ground. By the time they reached Tawila, her two children were sharing a single pair of shoes, taking turns wearing them.
